Original WWII British Royal Artillery Documentation Group – Major J. C. Currie

Original WWII British Royal Artillery documentation group associated with Major J. C. Currie, R.A.

An interesting and coherent collection of 6 original wartime artillery manuals, range tables, notebooks and technical notes dating from 1940 to 1944. The group includes several official War Office range tables for the Q.F. 25-pounder gun, including 1940 chemical shell tables and 1942–1943 range tables, together with a Field Artillery Liaison Notebook, artillery terminology/check list, map material and several pages of handwritten artillery calculations and technical notes.

Several of the documents are personally inscribed or annotated with the name “Major J. C. Currie, R.A.”, giving the group an important personal provenance. The documents show genuine wartime handling and use, with period annotations, pencil and ink notes, folds and age-related wear.

A very interesting group for a collector of British WWII artillery, Royal Artillery history and original wartime military documentation.
