Original U.S. Army M1917 Small Box Respirator (SBR) Gas Mask with Carry Bag

Original First World War U.S. Army M1917 Small Box Respirator, complete with its original khaki canvas carrying bag, shoulder strap, filter and original repair materials. The carry bag retains period markings and the original packet containing plaster for repairing tears in the hood. The bag is also named/marked “Aldrich” with additional period identification markings.

A genuine and increasingly desirable piece of American WWI field equipment, showing honest period use and age-related wear. The rubber under the canvas of the mask is quite dry. Still an excellent addition to a U.S. WWI collection.
