Original German Wehrmacht Large Essenträger Food Carrier, container, dated 1941.

Rare original WWII German food carrier used for transporting hot meals from field kitchens to troops in the field. This large type of Essenträger was designed to be carried on the back and features a sturdy metal construction with an enamelled inner food container.

This example is clearly marked “bmc 41”, dating it to 1941 (bmc: Geithainer Emaillierwerk). The container retains its original lid, locking mechanism, side fittings and enamelled interior.

The exterior shows extensive authentic wartime wear, scratches and patina.
