Original Canadian WWII Governor General’s Foot Guards Cap Badge

Original Canadian Governor General’s Foot Guards cap badge dating from the WWII period.

The badge features the distinctive six-pointed regimental star with the St George’s Cross in the centre and the regimental motto “CIVITAS ET PRINCEPS CURA NOSTRA” around the centre.

This pattern was worn as the regimental cap star of the Governor General’s Foot Guards. The Regiment served during the Second World War as part of the Canadian forces.

The badge retains its original attachment fittings to the reverse and shows attractive age-related wear and patination. A nice original example of Canadian military insignia.
