Original British RAF Mk VIII Flying Goggles – WWII – A.M. Marked
Original British RAF Mk VIII flying goggles from the Second World War, dating from the 1940s.
These classic RAF flying goggles feature the characteristic grey-painted metal frames, split-angle glass lenses and thick brown leather face cushions. The leather bridge is clearly marked “A.M.” for Air Ministry, confirming the correct wartime specification. The original fabric head strap with leather adjustment tabs is also present.
The goggles show honest wartime service wear, with age-related wear to the leather and some loss of paint to the metal frames. The lenses are complete and the goggles remain an attractive and genuine example of British WWII aircrew equipment.
The Mk VIII was introduced into RAF service in 1943 and became one of the standard British flying goggle patterns used by RAF aircrew.
