Original British Army 1943 Windproof Camouflage Trousers
Original British Army Windproof Camouflage Trousers, dating from 1943.
These distinctive camouflage trousers were introduced during the Second World War as part of the British Windproof camouflage clothing system. The lightweight cotton trousers feature the characteristic multi-colour brushstroke camouflage pattern and were designed to be worn as an outer garment over standard battledress.
This original example retains its period manufacturer's label, waist drawcord and the original ankle adjustment tabs. The camouflage pattern remains clearly visible, with attractive fading and age-related wear consistent with genuine period use.
A highly desirable and increasingly scarce piece of original British WWII camouflage clothing. The Windproof pattern is particularly sought after by collectors of British airborne, reconnaissance and Special Forces equipment.
