Original Belgian WWII Polish Liberation Commemorative Pin – Polish Flag

€ 16,00Price

Original Belgian commemorative lapel pin featuring the Polish national flag, made to honour the Polish troops who liberated Belgium in 1944. Made shortly after the liberation, in late 1944 or early 1945.

This unusual pin features a stylised Polish flag in red and white, mounted on a brass-coloured metal frame with a long original pin fitting to the reverse.

The pin is believed to have been produced in Belgium as a commemorative item in honour of the Polish liberators following the liberation of Belgium in 1944. Polish forces, most notably the 1st Polish Armoured Division under General Stanisław Maczek, played an important role in the liberation of several Belgian towns and cities.

A rare and interesting piece of local liberation memorabilia, particularly appealing to collectors of Polish forces, Belgian liberation history and WWII commemorative items.

Price is for one pin. Only one left.
