Original Belgian WWI M1896 Mess Tin – Foreign Production

Original Belgian Army WWI M1896 mess tin / cooking pot, dating from the First World War.

A very nice and complete original example of the Belgian M1896 mess tin, the 2.5-litre cooking vessel used by Belgian troops during WWI. This example is particularly interesting as it has no Belgian manufacturer markings and appears to be a wartime foreign-produced example.

The mess tin retains its original carrying handle and leather securing strap. It is in very attractive original condition, with only normal age-related wear and some loss to the original paint.

A scarce and interesting piece of Belgian WWI field equipment.

Nederlands
